
Current Position
I am a PhD student in Geographic Information Science in the Department of Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering at University College London.
My work is sponsored by Ordnance Survey, the national mapping agency of Great Britain, and EPSRC, the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
My research interests are in ontologies, cognitive science, artificial intelligence and information retrieval. To find out more visit my research page.

In 2002 personal circumstances brought me to England. Having then just finished my baccalaureate in Germany, I commenced with my undergraduate degree in remote sensing and GIS at Bath Spa University. Many doors opened for me during that time allowing me to work at the Swiss National Park for three month and visiting Ordnance Survey for an internship. After graduating with a first class honours degree, I continued on to my PhD at UCL which I started in 2005. The most exciting part of a PhD is the opportunity to visit conferences and workshops. In June 2007 I received a grant to participate in the Vespucci Initiative, a summer school for advancing geographic information science in Italy.
